EDITORIAL

We believe in freedom of the press. Yet we also believe that a press unopposed, especially one which serves as mouthpiece of an unelected administration, such as the OME, is dangerous and to be resisted at all costs. The OMEN does not represent you. The OMEN does not speak for your needs, but for the whims of those who would seek to oppress you. We believe that freedom from such oppression can arise only with the emergence of a voice independent of and unanswerable to this mainstream media. We seek to be that voice for the class of 2004.

We offer this publication as an outlet for minority viewpoints, which until now have been repressed, leaving their proponents feeling emasculated and alone in their dissent. We hope these pages will serve as a forum for debate, as a vehicle for change and as a ěhoe,î in the metaphorical sense, that will dig through the rubbish of propaganda spewed forth by the OMENís Peggy Gray and other administration lapdogs like her.

For far too long, we have suffered under the illusion of rule by a benign triumvirate of Hosokawa, Nolke and Hall. Yet in reality, we find these ěleadersî to be nothing more than a puppet administration, a mere finger extending from and controlled by the iron fist of the all-powerful FASCIST regime of Freeman, Armentrout, Stevermer, Crist, mIlanick, (Arnie) Smith and Thai. Their heavy footsteps upon our skulls shall tread no longer. Their unrestrained tyranny shall meet the wall. Their cowardly violations of our student body will be returned with courageous blows upon their bully backs.

The Anti-Crist has risen!
